On November 8 and 9, Cantori New York will premiere “The Jazzman, His Wife, and the Persian Poet,” a work commissioned from Dutch composer Jacques Bank. This is the second world premiere of a commissioned choral work produced with the support of the Fund. Saturday’s performance is at 8 p.m. at Park Avenue Christian Church, 1010 Park Avenue, New York. The initial project of the Ann Stookey Fund for New Music is the underwriting of The Crossing: Christmas Daybreak, a CD on the Innova label featuring the works of Andrew Gant, James MacMillan, Gabriel Jackson, Jonathan Varcoe, Benjamin C.S. Boyle, Zachary Wadsworth, Edwin Fissinger, Kerry Andrew, Colin Mawby, and Robert Convery performed by The Crossing, accompanied by the Choir of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church of Chestnut Hill, PA.
